Founder of Deye Zhang Hejun
Zhang Hejun is the cofounder of Ningbo Deye Technology which went public on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2021, he is a lengdary of Chinese Business Figure;
Zhang Hejun born in 1952, he start the first venture of business in his 17 year old; Initially engaged in the mold business, later transitioning to hardware, and subsequently delving into plastic components, the founder’s early-established company operated under multiple names until 1990 that “Deye” was formally established. The company that went public in 2021 is named “Deye Corporation.” Starting in 1997, they supplied components to Midea air conditioners, making Midea a stable client for them until their IPO.
In 2021, Zhang Hejun made his debut on the rich list with a wealth of 22.5 billion RMB. The following year, his fortune surged by 149% to reach 56 billion RMB, securing him the third position in the Hurun Rich List for Ningbo in 2022.

Over time, Deye gradually developed products with higher technological content, such as heat exchangers and variable frequency control chips. They even became the leader in the domestic dehumidifier market.
By 2020, their operating income had reached around 3 billion CNY.
In response to queries from the Shanghai Stock Exchange, they mentioned that the sales pricing of the products was determined based on cost-plus pricing, with the cost being derived from the prices of raw materials.
In April 2021, Deye Corporation was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. That year, its revenue from the photovoltaic industry, including inverters, reached nearly 1.2 billion RMB, with a growth rate of 262%, accounting for 30% of the company’s total revenue.
In 2022, the operating income once again surged by 240%, reaching 3.9 billion RMB, which constituted 65% of the company’s revenue.
In comparison, traditional business grew by only about 10% in 2021 and declined by 33% in 2022.
At the same time, the gross profit margin of the photovoltaic business was significantly higher, exceeding 37% and 48% in the two years respectively, while the household appliance components were only around 18%.
During these two years, the company’s performance also skyrocketed. From 2020 to 2022, the revenue was 3 billion RMB, 4.2 billion RMB, and 6 billion RMB respectively, with net profits of over 380 million RMB, over 580 million RMB, and over 1.5 billion RMB respectively.
